Campus Smart Map
Project type
Software Development
Date
Sept 2025 - June 2026
Location

Campus | Park & Path is a full-stack campus navigation platform developed as my senior capstone project at Bellevue College. The application helps students, faculty, staff, and visitors navigate campus using an interactive map with indoor and outdoor routing, accessibility-aware navigation, and kiosk-to-phone route sharing via QR codes. The system was designed as a scalable, modular platform capable of supporting future campus data integrations while prioritizing usability, accessibility, and maintainability.
As a software engineer on a four-person Agile team, I led the design and implementation of the pathfinding subsystem. I researched and selected routing algorithms, implementing A* search for point-to-point navigation and Dijkstra's algorithm for nearest point-of-interest routing. I designed the backend API boundary for the routing service, developed request validation using JSON Schema, and helped define the system architecture through component design, API specifications, and technical documentation. I also contributed to cloud deployment planning using AWS, collaborated on frontend-backend integration, and participated in iterative design reviews, testing, and sprint planning throughout the project.
Technologies: TypeScript, React, Node.js, AWS, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, JSON Schema (AJV), REST APIs, Agile, Git, GitHub Actions
